Pure Being Now - Release
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
In this episode, Joy invites us to release the weight of the past and reconnect with who we are in this moment. Joy shows us how we can enter into a space where we can observe old memories with compassion rather than becoming defined by them.
We explore how past experiences can continue to shape our emotions long after they've passed. But rather than staying trapped in those moments, we’re encouraged to step back, ask "Who am I now?", and view our story through a wider lens of understanding and grace.
Joy also teaches us a powerful inner child practice, through which we can comfort the younger parts of ourselves while remembering the enduring truth beneath every experience, that we are, and have always been, worthy of love, resilience, and light.
Release episodes help you shed trauma signals and accumulated pain stemming from your family history and personal life journey.

SPEAKER_00We're going to jump into our lovely space today. We're talking about the pure being now. And I don't mean pure as an angelic and never makes a mistake. I mean purely being in your pure essence of your beingness. And we must choose to do that now. We want to truly love and adore and be in this human being, this vehicle that is here to be part of this journey, to see, witness, know, understand, connect, collide with this life, with this particular journey and with this being. This is a time for us to settle down and come into our full capacity by allowing ourselves this beautiful time to reconnect. So let's do that today, if we can, if that feels like it might help you and support you. Let's drop into this beautiful space together, hold the energy, and then bring in the highest vibration of light and love that we can hold at this time. So if you're ready, get yourself settled, anchored, and connected right there where you are at this moment. So let's take a deep breath in, my treasures. And a long, slow out breath. These reset points with our breath. We do it every time. And truly, this is one of the most brilliant things you can do for your mind, body, and your being. It only works though if you stop for a moment. So whatever you're doing, just try and stop doing it. The world will still spin. Just give yourself this moment to reset, reconnect, realign, and come into the place with your mind, body, and being where you come into an agreement. This is my time, this is my space, this is where I hold my energy with all the light, love, and integrity. This is where I'm conscious of myself in this particular moment now. It's when we stop, allow ourselves to come into these morsels, these little capsules of a moment. As if we were to take out our little cameras and do a click-click and see that image and be able to find it again at a later time. You know what it's like when we look through an album, we see all the photographs of our treasures and times and growing up. Oh my goodness, it's huge. And you can, if you just sit quietly with that image and recall that moment when that snapshot was created. We have captured this moment and the feelings, the sense, the awareness, what you addressed like, what you were saying or doing or thinking. So much information more than you can imagine is there for you to still tap into. My darling Bubby has got one of these digital scanners and he's putting these old negatives through it, and then they pop up like the image, like the photograph. It's all magic. So I'm seeing all these old photographs, and it's hilarious. Oh my gosh, what a long time ago all this stuff was. And I'm looking back, and it's almost like I don't know who that person was. But if I stop and just consider that moment that was captured, I can absolutely sense myself in that moment once again. There is a dreadful picture of me with my mom thinking she was doing us a grand favor by having our little hairdos. This was the 60s when the beehive hairdos were fabulous. So we spent the whole day as the hairdresser who was just too awful and couldn't be bothered with little children, and had long blonde, lovely hair. They would tease it and put curlers in it, and this dreadful sticky stuff called dippity-doo. It was like a gel paste, and smash you under those hot head dryers. You're there with those curlers and those little things all sticking into your brain. If you dared complain, they would just become quite vicious with you. So you just sat there under this dome cooking your brain with those points of the curlers machetting through your skull. It was dreadful. So when I see this picture, it's like, are you kidding? It all comes back. Me with this little poncy hairdo, looking so stupid, like as an adult, and all I was was nine, for heaven's sakes. This little thing with this little dress and the little shoes, the tiny little heel, are absolutely awful fashions then for children because you look like little old women. They weren't cute little girly fashions like they are today. So all dressed up like these little old women with these beehive hairdors, and we look just dreadful. And we go up on the stage and we'd shake the mayor's hand and you'd give us our little trophies, medals or certificates, because I was a swimmer. Oh, for heaven's sakes. So all the trophies came home and all the medals and all the things as fast as we could get into a shower and get all this gunk off your head and come back to being a child. All that stuff, one picture, all that stuff, the memories, the pain, the irritation, the place, the feeling, the sense, the smell of that salon, the cigarettes that they used to smoke in your face while they were doing your hair. All these things were happening all at once, and of course, our systems recorded. Unbelievable. Nearly 60 years ago, and I remember it like it was yesterday. Here we are, pure beings now, in this moment, with a collective of time stamps, memory snaps of our entire existence to this point. And here we stand now with this amazing catalog of who we are, where we've come from, how we've grown up, and what has impacted us and pressed upon our awareness? Everything that was informs who I am now. So we get to the point where we are now, so many decades later for many of us, and we can start to consider. So, who am I? Am I all that data, data? Am I all those ideas and thoughts, beliefs? Am I in those situations or am I now past them? But clearly I'm not past them. I can still be activated, I can still be irritated, and I can still remember all the points of pain in it. And that is the truth for all of us. What is gone and past is not gone, it is simply held in a different place, in the place of recall remembering. And for us, I believe that that is one of our greatest gifts for us to remember. But then we need to do one more thing with it. It's no good just remembering, but we really want to, at this point in our life, stand back from the memory, the scenario, the scene that we were in. And we want to ask our being here now. Who am I now? Who is this being that is so full with information? Who is this one? And how do I wish to process myself moving forward now? Would I see myself as damaged and broken, unable to speak my truth? Would I see myself furious and frustrated with adults who weren't paying attention to me? Or could I move beyond into a different space and see it from the other's perspective? Hmm, that takes a bit of a leap, doesn't it? So then I do that. So I step back and I see it from my mom's perspective. For my mom who had no mommy, her grandmommy brought her up. Having her hair done and having herself pampered and seen and looking beautiful and wearing lovely clothes, that was such a wonderful, wonderful gift. Here's my sweet mommy passing that on to my little sister and me. How sweet are these little children who willingly go along with this treasured mommy who wants to do something so lovely for them. Then one of the children, I'm putting up my hand, pouts, and has got a grumpy face and is not happy at all, and won't smile when we're doing a photographic image to keep forever and ever. She stands here with a face pouty across and set up. And here's my little sister going, it's okay, Joy. Just make the best of it. You know, really, two years younger than me, and so wise at that little, little age. She was only then seven years old, sweet girl. And just was making the best of it and being kind. Just being kind. How I interpreted it has stayed with me all these years. My least favorite thing to do is to go and have my hair done. For my Linda, that kindness and that tolerance and the sweetness of her all these years, it remained right up to the very end of her life. Being able to see life through the eyes of others, being able to think about someone else other than herself. Just a wonderful gift that we have different ways of seeing and perceiving, depending on who we are and where we are and what has come into our awareness. And then there's that part of us that who we are, our character, plays a part as well. I was the grumpy, oversensitive kid. Everything was dreadful. And here was Linda, the kind and tolerant, allowing kid, the different frame of reference, two children from the same home, the same input coming towards us, and the very different output. Who are we now that can reflect back and see all of our life, all the instances where we felt unhappy or sad, disregarded, pushed aside, where we yearned for something else, where we just didn't feel happy, where we were not loved, held, and comforted. In whatever way we had our life experience, and in whatever way we interpreted it, we all carry this amazing amount of baggage. It would be so wonderful for us at this point to just put it all down here, to step one, two steps back and begin to ask ourselves, who can I be now? Based upon what it is that I've gained clarity in, I've understood, felt, and perceived, who am I now? What does this being now tell me about who I am? Am I still referring to myself through that lens of pain? Or could I stand here and see how resilient and strong and courageous I am? Could I stand here and say, now I'm the one who can speak my truth. Now I'm the one who will not be disregarded and pushed aside. Now I will hold a different way of being in the world because I know what it's like to not have that. Whatever contrast has come up in your world, in your life, in your journey. Please use that contrast. It is such a gift for you to gain massive insight. Go back and look at your pictures. Go back and remember in your mind what it is that you felt and perceived and understood, and then challenge your being now, this pure being of light and love. How would you interpret it now? Through the eyes of the one who is holding so much grace and kindness, love that can see from many different perspectives, many different angles, and understand so much more because we allow ourselves the gift of that. This pure being that we can be now is because we have had a life that is being filled with every single thing that we could all encounter. You've done some things, and some things happen to you that I'm so sorry, it's awful. And we've all known stuff that is very challenging and very difficult. But who are we now? What can we do to switch the awareness and to reframe it and find the purity of our being, clear and cleanse this vehicle, take away all the self-loathing, self-deprecating, just pull it out of us and know that we were in that so that we could now come to a different place, space of awareness, higher witness. What a wonderful gift this is for us, my treasures. I wonder if we can do that. Are you able to go into your mind and rummage around there and find some little snapshot of your life? Have a look at a moment in your journey, bring that to your mind. And if you want to, let's play with that now so that we can open the space and you can practice this, just keep practicing it so that you become more and more powerful in your ability to hold this space now. Are you ready, my lovelies? So find your little snapshot, pop it into your mind, hold it against your heart, take a deep breath in. And with that image, ask your being to open up its extended awareness. Remember you then. What did you know about yourself then? What made you unhappy and cry and scream and shout? Look at that. Don't push it away. Because it is exactly that that was telling you you don't like it, not happy, it's not okay. Then look at the precious child who in its obedience had to submit or allow or condone behaviors that they would not as an adult. But all the while this little child knew that it's not okay. Could you be the guardian, the light being for that little child? Could you put your arms around that precious one and just speak into its heart it's okay? You didn't like this, was not a great event. But you know that it was not of worth for you, and you've carried that with you your whole life, knowing that there must be another way to show up in the world to be treated and spoken to. Hold that and regard the beautiful child that knows who it truly is, a being of love and light, that cannot absorb and carry all this pain and hatefulness, that wants so much more. They always talk about the innocence of a child and the love and the forgiveness of a child, so sweet, and that was you. Whatever you allowed yourself to be in, endured and suffered, whatever you raged against and might not have been heard. Hold that, and know that there is a part of you that was always looking out for you, and feel where that part of you is, it has been present with you your whole life, it is the pure light of you, it is the one who is witnessing, and the one who knows and understands, it is your eternal essence. Let that dear one allow you to bring all that information through this precious child, the broken heart, and bring it into the place where we now know so much more. We have grown up and we are aware now of who we are, and now imagine that that awareness grows around you like a beautiful cloak of light. All the things that you have stood for that you've just known are the right things, the right way to do it, the highest vibration, you've just known that your kindness, your forgiveness, your allowing, your trust, your graciousness, your generosity. It has always been there, and that is you. You truly are a being of love and light who has so much wisdom, and you are here witnessing yourself on this journey, and this beautiful being is moving through all the phases of a growing up person, and every little glimpse, every window, there is a different way of us showing up, just like the season to season, we are watching ourselves transform. We have been transforming all the time. We seek now the greatest leap in our transformation, and it is going to happen through the form. And for this reason, we are to regard our form, our journey, our life, and the collective awareness that we have brought in because of each of our facets, each of our unique journeys. We bring all of this collective field of information into the space, and we ask our being, who am I now? Who am I now? And when you can hold this, you can drop deeply into it, don't let any part of you try to answer it. Because really, what it is, it's a nudge for your awareness to wake up fully to who you truly are, because we remember who we are. Divine beings of light and love here on time is something that is so worthwhile. Every step and every breath, every beat of our heart through all the situations of our life are worthwhile when we make the worthiness of them count. Find the worthiness and the self-worth of you, this incredible formidable in your form, so able, strong, clear, divinely inspired being of light and love. That's you. So much love here, my treasures. Let's take a deep breath in. Put a beautiful blessing of love and light around your being and the full aspect of you and all your journeying, and feel held here now. Held so beautifully in the arms of gravity. How wonderful you are. Thank you for you.
